We want our website www.koerberhaus.de to be easily accessible for all visitors and are constantly endeavouring to improve accessibility.
As a public corporation, we are required to comply with the Hamburg Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (HmbBITVO).
If you still encounter any difficulties when using it, please contact us. This will help us to further improve accessibility.
Known restrictions
We are currently aware of the following accessibility restrictions. The problems should be resolved by December 2025.
- PDF: some PDF documents are only partially accessible. We will be happy to send you the content in MS-Word format on request until it has been revised.
- Sign language (DGS): The planned content in German sign language is not yet available. We will be happy to find a customised solution before publication. Please get in touch with us.
- Films: The module of the third-party provider YouTube is not completely accessible.

Legal framework
This declaration on accessibility applies to the website of the Bergedorf district office published at www.koerberhaus.de.
As a public authority within the meaning of Section 2 of the Hamburg Disability Equality Act (hereinafter referred to as HmbBGG), we endeavour to make our websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the provisions of the HmbBGG and the Hamburg Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as HmbBITVO) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.
Status of compatibility with the requirements
The accessibility requirements result from Section 1 HmbBITVO in conjunction with Sections 3 paras. 1 to 4 and Section 4 of the Federal BITV, which was issued on the basis of Section 11 HmbBGG.
The review of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment carried out in August 2022 and an external assessment in September 2022.
Based on the review, the website is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.

Arbitration procedure
If no satisfactory solution has been found even after your feedback to the above-mentioned contact, you can turn to the arbitration board in accordance with Section 13 a HmbBGG. The arbitration board has the task of supporting out-of-court dispute resolution in the event of conflicts between people with disabilities and public bodies on the subject of accessibility. The arbitration procedure is free of charge. No legal assistance is required.
At present, the ombudsman’s office of the Senate Chancellery is taking over the activities of the arbitration board yet to be set up.
