we are all the körberhaus

Co-operation and mutual support are anchored in the self-image of the KörberHaus. The programmes offered in the KörberHaus are organised in partnership by the following organisations – with and for Bergedorf.

  • AWO Hamburg

From daycare centres to senior citizens’ centres – AWO Hamburg is there for people in more than 130 facilities and ensures more community. The AWO circles in the districts of Hamburg take special care of the concerns of senior citizens and organise attractive programmes for older people to participate in society on a voluntary basis, regardless of social status or income. For over 50 years, the AWO has been running the popular “Lichtwarkhaus” senior citizens’ centre on behalf of the Bergedorf district office. It is now continuing this commitment in the new building with an attractive programme and under the new name of “AWO Treff Bergedorf”.

    Schmidtchen in KörberHaus

The traditional Hamburg company Schmidt & Schmidtchen runs the café in the KörberHaus. In addition to a delicious breakfast and a lunch menu, guests can enjoy coffee from our own roastery and excellent cakes and pastries. The café is also a partner for theatre and event catering in the KörberHaus. Historically known as a patisserie from the Elbe suburbs, Schmidt & Schmidtchen lives out the tradition of craftsmanship and has its bakery in the Sternschanze. The cafés that provide culinary delights at special cultural venues in the Hanseatic city are supplied from here. Previously – since 2019 – Schmidtchen Bergedorf was already an integral part of Bergedorf at the Kupferterrassen and now offers a popular meeting place in the district with the Schmidtchen KörberHaus.
