The programmes in the Lichtwark Theatre are realised by the Körber Foundation and the Bergedorf district office and contribute to the cultural and event diversity in the KörberHaus.
From professional guest theatre, drama, comedy, cabaret and musicals to school productions, youth music and theatre competitions all the way to informative formats – the modern theatre hall provides the stage for Bergedorf’s diverse cultural life. The modern theatre with 458 seats offers a varied programme for all generations and cultures. In addition to the professional theatre programme, the Bergedorf district office facilitates other cultural projects such as the annual youth theatre days. The Körber Foundation provides a stage for Bergedorf.
With the Bergedorf Youth Theatre Days, the Bergedorf District Office invites all non-professional groups to perform their theatre productions in the modern theatre hall! This year, we are looking forward to a colourful programme featuring classics, dance theatre, adventure stories and original productions.

Amateur theatres, schools, sports and cultural associations, human rights organisations and migrant communities – the landscape of volunteer organisations in Bergedorf is colourful and diverse. Their contributions are important for social cohesion in Bergedorf. The Körber Foundation enables the use of the professional stage in the Lichtwark Theatre for its activities. It supports the organisations in jointly advocating democracy and dialogue, championing socially relevant issues and bringing culture to life.
The district office supports cultural work in the KörberHaus and promotes and develops new formats, also in connection with the Lichtwark Theatre. Established events such as the Bergedorf Youth Theatre Days take place here in the KörberHaus. At the same time, the theatre will be open to participation and cooperation offers for schools and socio-cultural institutions. In the role of mediator between the district office and stakeholders in Bergedorf, networking with Hamburg’s cultural scene is being strengthened.
