AWO Landesverband Hamburg e.V.
Promoting solidarity in our society: people who volunteer to help others have always had a high priority at the AWO (Workers' Welfare Association Hamburg). Since its foundation more than 100 years ago until today, volunteering has been an important pillar for many of the AWO's offerings.
AWO Hamburg offers a wide range of opportunities for volunteering. Whether as an excursion companion in the daycare center, as support for young people or as a helper or leader in the AWO senior citizen meetings - this commitment is welcome and needed in many places.

Participation, volunteering, commitment - the Bergedorf district office supports voluntary commitment in Bergedorf with advice, contacts and money. The engagement fund offers simple support for smaller projects.
We are looking for people who would like to make Bergedorf a little better with their idea. Above all, we would like to inspire older people over the age of 50 to volunteer. We are convinced that they can contribute a lot to a good community. To make volunteering easy, we offer rooms, advice and training, for example. At the KörberHaus, volunteers can offer their help to others free of charge. We provide support to ensure that this help is successful. Volunteers can also participate in the Körber Foundation's own projects. You can find out more about our work and how you can get involved - whether you are 15, 50 or 85 years old - here.
Founded in 2012 by the people of Bergedorf, STEB - Stiftung für Engagement in Hamburg-Bergedorf (Foundation for Commitment in Bergedorf) -promotes and shapes the diversity of opportunities to get involved in our district; it concerns individual offers to get involved, a volunteer agency and a funding source that provides financial support for local charitable projects. The focus of our work is on active people over 50 who want to help shape the district. Bring your ideas for Bergedorf to life with us!
In a personal conversation, we advise people who would like to find a voluntary commitment or a volunteer position in Bergedorf. We also help with challenges in current volunteer work and support volunteers in finding suitable training.
