Mission Statement
Self-image of the co-operation in the KörberHaus
The KörberHaus and the organisations that have long-term premises there aim to create a place where everyone feels comfortable. Open and unprejudiced interaction with one another is central to this. Together, we have described our understanding of co-operation in our mission statement:
- The KörberHaus is an open meeting place for all generations and cultures in Bergedorf – a place for encounters, culture, education and engagement that focuses on active participation and community.
- The KörberHaus is an association that focuses on co-operation and works together to create services with and for Bergedorf. The Bergedorf district office, the senior citizens' meeting of the AWO Hamburg regional association and the Bergedorf district senior citizens' council, the Körber Foundation, the SHiP Foundation for Engagement in Bergedorf with the volunteer agency, the Hamburg Public Library Foundation and the Hamburg Adult Education School all work together as partners under one roof.
- All partners work together in a climate of trust and respect. Racist, nationalistic or discriminatory positions that are incompatible with the democratic constitution have no place in the KörberHaus. No racist, sexist, nationalistic or discriminatory symbols will be tolerated in the KörberHaus.
- All partners are oriented towards the common good and are actively committed to creating a democratic meeting place that promotes and supports co-operation, a culture of debate and civic engagement. They are non-partisan, non-denominational and open-minded.
- The KörberHaus is a place of togetherness for everyone. We welcome people with and without disabilities and provide equal support to all who request it.
